Where are my Bacula files going?

My disk-based bacula volumes were disappearing, without the volume expiring, without jobs or file retention periods expiring.  Bconsole said the volumes were there, but they were missing in the directory.

I finally realized I had set up my bacula disk-based volumes in /tmp/bacula, and the temporary file manager was deleting my volumes. *doh!*
